Actress and singer follows cousin Paul McCartney on to Mathew Street stage

Kate Robbins is set to become the latest member of her family to perform at the Cavern Club.
The actress, singer and comedienne will take to the stage at the famous Mathew Street venue on November 26.
“The week I’m doing The Cavern I’m also doing a comedy spot at Ricky Tomlinson’s Greenroom.

“It’s typical of my career. One minute singing passionately about tormented love, then the next-doing impressions of Victoria Wood singing James Bond themes!”

The 57-year-old former Wirral Grammar School for Girls student, who is sister of comedian Ted Robbins and mum of actress Emily Atack, started her singing career in the late 1970s.

She was a member of Prima Donna, who came third for the UK in the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest, and while acting in Crossroads, she reached number two in the charts with More Than in Love.

During the late 1980s and early 1990s meanwhile she was the woman behind almost all the female voices on Spitting Image.

She also wrote the theme song for Cilla TV hit Surprise, Surprise.

Kate PosterAn Evening With Kate Robbins takes place at the Cavern on November 26. She will be at the Greenroom on November 29.
